Types of Papers

Full Papers (8 to 10 pages):

Papers with significant results that contribute to research advancements in the field. Papers describing models, methods, experimental studies, and industrial experience reports are welcome.

Short Papers (up to 6 pages + 1 additional page for references):

Papers describing ongoing work.

Case Studies (5 to 7 pages):

Papers reporting experiences of applying simulation in real-world industrial or research environments, highlighting the impact of such models on the process, the benefits, and the analyzed factors/attributes.

Position Papers (up to 5 pages):

Opinion papers or papers summarizing a research project, tool, or technique, or presenting research perspectives on the workshop topics.

Submission Notes

Papers will be evaluated by at least three members of the program committee. Acceptance will be primarily based on originality and contribution to the field. For full papers, the evaluation criteria are: (i) relevance to the workshop scope, (ii) practical relevance, (iii) technical quality, (iv) clarity of presentation, and (v) originality. For short papers, the same evaluation criteria as those for full papers will be followed. However, it will be considered that these papers describe ongoing work, and as such, the feedback will be more focused on assisting the authors rather than being critical of the results achieved so far. Position papers will be evaluated based on the same criteria as full papers, with an emphasis on the potential for discussion the paper can generate at the workshop. Submitted papers, regardless of type (full paper, short paper, or position paper), will be evaluated “blindly” (double blind review), with the identification of authors and reviewers omitted.

Accepted papers presented at the workshop will be published on the SBC OpenLib (SOL) platform. Finally, the best papers will be invited to submit expanded versions for publication in a journal that is still under consideration.
