The ADJEPA (which in Portuguese stands for "Assistente Digital de Gestão Pública Participativa", and means Digital Assistant
for Participatory Public Management) Project starts to arise in 2011 March, when two undergraduate students talk with Professor
Vinícius Sebba Patto to converse about undergraduate research. At the begin, they (professor and students) thought about start
a social network for users mark and note leisure points and interest points (ex. restaurants, bars, nightclubs). Moreover, they
expected to group and classify places according to user profiles and preferences (what is “cool” for someone can be “tedious”
for someone else). However, during the bibliographic review and the state of art study, one realized that there were too much
similar works.
Then, one propose to run a work with more academic and scientific appeal, and with certain social-environmental commitment.
Then, one starts to formalize the idea about identify places in cities where one could find social-environmental troubles
(hotspots). The project are being designed to mobile devices and desktops with internet connection. By marking points by
georeference and storing descriptive texts and date, one expects to populate a data base so that it is rich enough to let one
makes some related studies.
